It is our belief that children's overall welfare and protection are paramount. This includes all aspects of health, safety and security.
We ensure that the Vice Principal and staff in our nursery are aware of their responsibilities towards each individual child. This will encompass all aspects of child hygiene and safety within the premises such as the cleanliness of toys, resources and the environment, emergency situations, appropriate access to the nursery by visitors, collection of children, supervision by staff etc. Equally this will apply to any off site visits such as field trips. In addition staff will be provided with appropriate support to enable them to be vigilant in the identification of any possible signs of harm, abuse or neglect and be familiar with what to do if any concerns are raised.
We aim to work closely and appropriately with parents/carers, other interested agencies, such as the Ministry of Education, psychologists, behaviour therapists etc, and the local community in support of the children in our care.
With this in mind we have a number of policies and procedures that are implemented in the nursery. These include but are not limited to:
- General Hygiene including those of a medical nature
- General Safety
- Buildings and Environment
- Risk Assessments
- Toileting and Nappy Change
- Child Protection and Safeguarding
- Control of Chemicals
